The Seventy-sixth Session of the Commission

New York, 25 February to 8 March 2013

The International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) held its 76th session at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 25 February through 8 March 2013. The Commission deliberated on a range of subjects affecting all staff categories throughout the United Nations common system. In particular, the ICSC had initial discussions on the review of the compensation package, decided on the results of the General Service salary in Paris, and reviewed “H” category duty stations, the methodology for Children’s and secondary dependants’ allowances, the methodology for the current grade equivalency study, and the interim report of the Working Group on the Framework for Human Resources Management.

Prior to the session, the Commission had a retreat to study how staff are compensated in other international organizations, and what are current remuneration trends outside the public sector realm.
